The San Diego Tech Jobs You Should Know About

Welcome to the Career Coyote!

Sup Hunters,

I’ve been chatting with San Diego hiring and recruiting professionals to uncover helpful hiring trends I can share.

This was shared by Dane Zink, Co-Founder Product Hiring House:

“In a world full of noise, now more than ever, it pays to be intentional. The rise of AI influences this; creating saturation above and below, with a lot of murkiness in the middle.

Over recent years, the hiring landscape has shifted from what was a candidate-driven market to now back in favor of employers. Companies are becoming more selective, with an abundance of qualified applicants for fewer open roles. Simply having a strong resume or solid experience is no longer enough. Candidates must be deliberate in how they position themselves, tailoring each application, clearly articulating their unique value, and aligning directly with a company’s specific needs and stage of growth.

Employers looking to attract top talent must also be intentional. The best candidates - those who are adaptable, mission-aligned, and capable of thriving in ambiguous environments - are not easily swayed by generic job descriptions or surface level perks. Companies that stand out are the ones that tell a compelling story about why now is the right time to join, what meaningful problems they are solving, and how they are invested in the growth of their people.

For job seekers, this is the moment to go beyond the application. Take time to reach out directly, offer thoughtful insights, show you’ve done work to understand the company, and demonstrate how you can help move their mission forward starting on day 1.”
