🐺 Career Coyote 13: Fresh Tech Jobs You’ll Want to Howl About

Let's Find Tech Jobs in San Diego Together!

Welcome, Career Coyote!

Sup Hunters,

I wanted to understand exactly what the last few coyotes did to get their jobs so I can share it with you.

Here’s one story:

Step 1: Discovery, she identified a skills match at a desirable company with an open role. Howl yeah!

In this case, the company was already on her radar, but she hadn’t seen this job yet.

Step 2: She kicks things into gear by setting up casual chats with people at the company to test for culture fit before applying.

Honestly, it would be the worst to land a job and not vibe with the team.

Step 3: Connect. Ask how folks like working there. See if anyone’s up for coffee. Start gathering signal. This is intel, not a sales pitch.

Step 4: Find an ally. If you click with someone, they might refer you to the hiring manager or share helpful tips about the process.

Step 5: Apply for the job and let your ally know you did. Keeps the momentum going.

Step 6: Pay attention to the small stuff. In this case, the hiring manager was excited about hybrid remote work. She used that detail to connect further, sharing how in-person time had been a game-changer for her.

Step 7: Close in for the win!

This isn’t the only way. But it is one way a real person in our community locked down a dream job.

Steal what works. Skip what doesn’t. And when you get hired, howl back. We love a good pack win.

Howl yeah, let’s dive in.
